MYSTICISM AND PEACE IN GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE |

Dr. Fatima Hussain, well-known Indian historian from Delhi University, while delivering her lecture on ‘Mysticism and Peace in a Global Perspective’ understands the importance of mystical approach for conflict resolution and world peace.
Elaborating the universality of mysticism she said that mysticism was not confined to Islam alone as all the religions of the world have emphasized that human being should cleanse themselves of the corroding influences of materialism and consumerism which is promoting greed and avarice.
Mr. Fakhar Zaman, Chairman of the Academy of Letters, spoke on the importance of mysticism as a humanizing and civilizing influence. He thought that the seminar of mystics poets of one province should be held in another province and the tendency to localize them in their provinces should be discarded. He suggested that mysticism and culture studies should be made an essential part of the graduate and post-graduate curricula.
Earlier Dr. Muhammad Ali Siddiqui, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences welcome the guests and introduced their commendable efforts to mysticism.
