After the successful participation in an international conference at Kobe Gakuin University, Koba, Japan Registrar Biztek, Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh participated in another international conference in United Kingdom.
This conference was jointly organized by the British Sociological Association and University of Warwick from 3rd to 5th July, 2008.
The theme of the Conference was "1968: Impact and Implications". Many renowned scholars from different parts of the world attended the conference. Conference was comprising of several parallel sessions in which 100 research scholars from entire world participated. Dr. Riaz Shaikh was the only Pakistani scholar who presented Pakistan and Biztek in the conference. Last plenary session of the conference presided by Prof. Patricia Hill Collins, who is 100th President of American Sociological Association and author of several books and research papers. Other prominent speakers included Prof. Mitchell, Professor in University of Cambridge, Prof. Paul Gilroy from London School of Economics and Social Sciences (LSE), Prof. Lyne Segal, Anniversary Professor Birbeck, Prof. William Outwaite, University of Oxford, Prof. Ken Plummer, University of Essex.

Conference was held in university of London’s Bizkbeck Institute for Social Research, London. The topic of Dr. Riaz’s paper was “1968- Was it really year of Social Change in Pakistan?” Paper discussed the Pakistan nation’s struggle against General; Ayub Khan for the restoration of democracy in the country. This struggle ultimately resulted in the holding of first general elections in the country. This paper would be published in April, 09 in the research journal of University of Calcutta.
